Robert J. Martin, Jr.

President, Board of Directors
Robert (Bob) J. Martin, Jr. was named president in August 2009. As the son of the company’s founder, Martin has literally grown up in the company. Throughout his career, he has been involved in virtually every aspect of running the business, from field experience, customer service and project management to financial and employee management. He serves on the company’s Board of Directors.
After earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, Martin joined the family business in 2002, working as a project manager for National Construction Services (NCS), LLC, of Twinsburg, Ohio. NCS was a joint venture with RJ Martin Electrical and a general contractor for national retail construction programs.
Martin assumed increasing responsibilities within the company and, in 2004, became a project manager for RJ Martin Electrical Contracting. In 2005, Mr. Martin studied Electrical Contracting Project Management at Purdue University.
Johnny L. Riling
President, RJ Martin National Contracting
Vice President, RJ Martin Electrical Services
Johnny Riling has spent more than 30 years in the electrical construction industry, rising through the field and management ranks at several Ohio companies. In his current position he oversees all estimating, project management and service operations for RJ Martin Electrical Services and RJ Martin National Contracting. He joined the company in 2001 as an estimator having previously worked as a project manager/estimator in Northeast Ohio the previous 13 years.
Riling combines strong technical skills and an innovative spirit with a common sense approach to analyzing projects, trouble-shooting problems and modifying antiquated systems. Riling holds a Master electrician and/or contractors licenses in Ohio and 20 other states. He has worked on or managed dozens of large projects, including several valued at $1 million or more.
Riling has worked on or assisted with many different types of projects during his career. Following is a sampling of the types of projects that underscore his experience in all phases of electrical construction:
- Design Build experience includes a nursing home, distribution facilities, fire station, 15kv substation, 3 megawatt 5kv generation for facility back-up power and light manufacturing facilities;
- Industrial projects include installation of a twin extruder production line, installation of a triple feed extrusion system, equipment and plant relocations, various industrial control projects and precipitator electrical upgrades; and,
- Public and commercial project experience includes retail rollouts, large and small retail facilities, school projects (ground up and remodel), runway lighting, sheriff’s office with 140 bed correction facility attached, elevated water tanks, water and wastewater treatment plants.
James Martin
Vice President, RJ Martin National Contracting
James (Jim) Martin has served RJ Martin’s clients for more than a decade. As vice president of national sales, Martin is responsible for the company’s national contracts and relationships with general contractors across the United States. He joined RJ Martin in 1999 as a project manager in the National Accounts Division.
Prior to RJ Martin, Martin spent 30 years with Country Counter Grocery, where he served as store manager and director of store operations – overseeing an annual volume of $120 million.
Martin is a member of the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association (CECA) and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). He contributes his time to several nonprofit organizations, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, St. Vincent DePaul, St. Josephs Church and Hospice. He is a 1967 graduate of Brecksville High School (Ohio).
Jacob Scuvotti
Director, RJ Martin National Contracting
As director of RJ Martin National Contracting, Jacob (Jake) Scuvotti oversees the day-to-day operations of the South Carolina office, including estimating and project management. Starting as a delivery driver for RJ Martin in 1997, Scuvotti understands the ins and outs of the electrical contracting industry, with experience in all sides of the business – from foreman to service to estimator. He has estimated projects with electrical budgets up to $4 million dollars across a variety of industries, including industrial, commercial, educational and institutional facilities.
A certified journeyman, Scuvotti is a graduate of the Associated Builders and Contractors (Brecksville, Ohio) and Riverside School of Aeronautics (Utica, New York). He is a member of the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association (CECA).
